Ecology expert Louis J. Gross addresses the human side of climate change Sept. 20

Dr. Louis J. Gross, whose research focuses on computational and mathematical ecology, will visit Missouri University of Science and Technology next week to share his cross-disciplinary perspective on climate change.

Team Anita golf tournament to aid local cancer patients

            Registration and sponsors are now being accepted for the ninth annual Team Anita Golf benefit. This year’s event will be held on October 15 at the Oak Meadow Country Club in Rolla and will benefit local cancer patients. Registration closes on October 10.

Russell House receives donation of five processed hogs from FSCB

                 A sunny day made for quick work Aug. 19 at Russell House when Ernie Kost, President of First State Community Bank, arrived with a donation of more than 1,000 pounds of pork. Kost obtained the meat through five winning bids during the Phelps County Fair’s annual livestock auction.

Tour planned of solar-powered homes at S&T 

            If you want a firsthand look at technology that will carry us to a sustainable future, look no further than Rolla, and plan on joining Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) on Tuesday, September 13, at 10 a.m. for a special tour of “living laboratory” solar-powered homes in Missouri S&T’s Solar Village and Eco-Village and a visit to the geothermal station on campus.

Dill named Senior Companion of the Month
