Missouri S&T researchers take second in Department of Energy hydropower contest

                  A Missouri University of Science and Technology team of researchers led by Dr. Rui Bo, an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, recently took second place in the Hydropower Operations Optimization (H2Os) Prize challenge sponsored by the United States Department of Energy (DOE).

Mercy Rolla blesses new 3D mammography equipment

The team at Mercy Imaging Services – Rolla held a blessing ceremony this week for new 3D mammography equipment. The advanced imaging technology has been proven to find more cancers than traditional 2D imaging.

Appointments made for State Representatives Cook, Peters

            State Rep. Bennie Cook and Tara Peters have received their committee assignments for the 2023 legislative session. House Speaker Dean Plocher announced the appointments of each House member on Wednesday.

Phelps County Sheriff’s Department report

On 01/05/2023, Christopher Allen Wren, 28, of Newburg, was arrested at the Phelps County Courthouse on a Phelps County warrant charging him with Stalking 1st degree. Wren was incarcerated at the Phelps County Jail, where he remains.

Annual count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless population taking place Wednesday, Jan. 25

           The Point in Time Count is an initiative to count the homeless population throughout the 101 counties of the Missouri Balance of State Continuum of Care.
