The St. James Lady Tigers may want to invest in plenty of good basketball shoes this season. Because with perhaps their deepest roster in years, St. James figures to be wearing out a lot of sneakers with its pace this season.

Ben Smith wants to avoid the dreaded “R” word. But however one slices it the St. James High School boys’ basketball squad will indeed be in some sort of rebuilding mode this winter. St. James is scheduled to open the season in the Sullivan Tournament Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
With some key returners in place, the St. James High School wrestling team are optimistic despite the road blocks thrown into the season by COVID-19.
The Tigers’ season-opener at Osage Beach, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23, was canceled Friday evening, Nov. 20. However, a replacement meet was quickly scheduled and now St. James is to travel to Rolla High School Tuesday, Nov. 24 to open against Rolla and Bolivar (5:30 p.m.).
Six members of the St. James High School football team in seven positions have been selected to the 2020 All-Four Rivers Conference Team, it was announced this week.
The St. James High School girls basketball program has a long tradition of excellence. And it appears that success is set to continue for some years to come.
