MoASBO honors Susan Douglas

    The Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) announced recently that Susan Douglas was one of its graduates of the School Business Specialist Certification Program (SBS). The SBS program is a two-year intensive course designed to prepare and grow current school district employees for the business office.

Intercounty announces winners for Youth Tour Essay Contest

    In January, Intercounty began contacting local high schools to share information about an opportunity for juniors to participate in the co-op’s annual Youth Tour Essay Contest.

Senior Center to hold Summer Fling

    The St. James Senior Center will be holding a Summer Fling dinner and dance on Saturday, June 26, and tickets are on sale now. This event will be used as a fundraiser for the facility and will provide food and live entertainment throughout the evening.

Council approves purchase of materials for lift station

    The St. James City Council on Monday approved purchasing materials to fix a broken lift station for $54,016 from Vandevanter Materials. The station had a pump break a month ago, leading to a re-engineering project to occur sooner than expected.

Council approves tuition reimbursement for employees

    On Monday night, the St. James City Council approved changes to the employee handbook to offer tuition reimbursement for employees wanting to further their education. While the program will only earmark $7,600 to the annual budget, aldermen hope it will be another incentive when hiring and to keep workers longer.
