COVID-19 has caused further changes to how students will learn at St. James schools. The middle school will be moving to a hybrid learning plan and the Lucy Wortham James Elementary School will go virtual following Thanksgiving break.
The St. James Board of Education held discussions on what to do with an empty facility on campus during a November 19 virtual meeting. Several other items were also discussed including information about a Walmart lease agreement, transferring funds for the high school renovations, and creating the 2021-22 district calendar.
The St. James School District has received 2,000 antigen test kits from the State of Missouri to help the district quickly test suspected COVID-19 cases on site. Testing has already begun on campuses as students show symptoms and the hope is to get positive testing students in isolation as soon as possible.
