Primary election is next Tuesday

The August 2 Primary Election in Crawford County is next week and features a race for presiding commissioner, a ballot proposition for the local 911 agency, and a race for state representative for this area. Profiles for the candidates are available on our website, as well.  

Weapons charges filed after shots fired

            Three criminal charges have been filed against a Boss man accused of firing a revolver from his vehicle on July 9 in Cherryville.

Prosecuting attorney files felony charges

           The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has filed felony charges against the following people. Each person is presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction.

August sample ballots in this week’s edition

           Sample ballots for the August 2 Primary Election in Crawford County are published in this week’s editions of the Steelville Star and Cuba Free Press. There are different ballots available, one for each of the Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, and Constitution parties, along with a non-partisan ballot. All ballots will include a question for the 911 agency in the county and residents of the city of Bourbon will also have a question.
