The Bourbon High School volleyball teams took to their home court for the first time on September 9 looking for their first victory of the season as they hosted St. James. The visiting Tigers, however, left with a straight-set win.
The Bourbon High School and Middle School cross country teams opened their seasons at the Sullivan Invitational on September 7. The Warhawks were also scheduled to host a meet on Monday, but it was canceled due to the ongoing construction at the high school campus.
The varsity Wildcats football team continued to struggle on both side of the ball at home Friday night as they fell to the Owensville Dutchmen 53-8. Coming off a 41-0 loss to Jefferson in Week 2, the Cats have now given up a total of 148 points while scoring just 14.
After starting out 0-2 in non-conference play to open the season, the Cuba High School varsity volleyball team earned a pair of Gasconade Valley Conference wins last week to reach .500 mark on the season.
If you could erase the top of the first inning in last week’s high school softball game between Cuba and Linn, it was a close contest. As it was however, Linn defeated the Lady Wildcats 17-4 in five innings.
The Cuba Middle School boys cross country team finished fourth at the Vienna Eagle Invitational to open the 2021 season on September 8. Noah Halbert led the squad with a third-place finish.
