The Bourbon High School volleyball teams drop matches against a pair of Gasconade Valley Conference opponents last week. The JV also hosted its annual tournament and advance out of pool play before finishing fourth.
The varsity Lady Wildcats volleyball team got a big Gasconade Valley Conference win over Belle last week and the junior varsity went to the Bourbon JV Tournament on Saturday and returned home with the championship. The varsity is now 3-1 in GVC play.
Cuba High School sophomore Kaylee Fulliam earned her first individual first-place finish of the season at the Belle Invitational Cross Country Meet on September 23. Brett Payne also took first for the Bourbon Middle School boys.
The Cuba High School varsity softball team traveled to the Richland tourney on Saturday and came home with two wins in three games. The Lady Wildcats beat Crocker and Richland but fell to Vienna.
It was a wild time on the diamond for the Lady Wildcats last week. The Cuba High School varsity squad got a victory over Belle by 10 runs, but also dropped games to Vienna and South Callaway by double digits.
There was a cat fight in St. James last Friday night as Cuba and St. James squared off in the first Route 66 Rivalry football game. When the dust settled, the Tigers were hoisting the trophy after beating the Wildcats 49-26.
