Author, critic, technologist and new media pioneer Dr. Jay David Bolter will deliver two lectures at Missouri S&T on Thursday, March 2. Among his many accomplishments, Bolter is known for the books he’s authored or co-authored and for pioneering hypertext as an application for creative writing.

Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District is seeking area sponsors within its seven-county region for the 32nd Annual Earth Day Poster, Trash Art and Graphic Art Contest. Sponsorships provide prizes for students placing first and second along with honorable mentions in the contest. Some 83 students received prizes in 2022.
On 01/24/2023, deputies responded to the 500 block of West 2nd Street and arrested Jack M. Cole Jr, 59 of Rolla, on Phelps County Warrants charging him with excessive blood alcohol content. Cole Jr was incarcerated at the Phelps County Jail, where he remains.
