A UTV fundraising ride was held on Saturday, raising $18,463.87 for the St. James Tigers Special Olympics team. Sponsored by the St. James Police Department and the Phelps County Riders, the event featured a 50-mile ride throughout the county and offered dinner and auctions.

Work to improve roofs at the high school is moving forward with GRP Wegman repairing leaks and installing new HVAC systems. GRP is also overseeing an expansion of the high school cafeteria, which will be completed before students return in a few weeks.
The city of St. James held a pre-construction meeting last week with Mid-State Pipeline, LLC for construction of the bypass treatment and improvements at the wastewater treatment plant, with plans to begin ordering materials for the project. The project will bring the wastewater treatment plant into compliance with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The city of St. James is again working to repair a water issue along North Louise Avenue, something it has been working on for the past several years. Homes located near the Walmart Distribution Center have had water flooding their yard coming off a ditch running between the Center and homes.
The St. James School District announced on Friday the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) waiver that provided free meals to students during the COVID-19 pandemic has expired and school meals will no longer be automatically free for everyone.
