County park and bike trail projects proposed

    Steelville area resident Rob Viehman spoke to Crawford County Commissioners at their meeting on November 23, offering a couple of suggestions for improvements to local outdoor recreation opportunities.

Ealer again petitions commission to return rally racing

    Rally for the Rally Committee member Jim Ealer was again at the Crawford County Commission meeting on November 23, but commissioners told him they hadn’t had time to review the information given to them two weeks previously by supporters of returning the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood to the county in 2022.

County officials seek higher salaries

    Crawford County elected officials are still considering how to increase their salaries. A quorum of those who make up the Salary Commission met again on Wednesday, November 24, to talk about how to add to the pay they receive as designated by state law.

County prosecutor announces several felony charges

    The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has filed felony charges against the following people. Each person is presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction.

“Justice for Justin” sought by protestors in shooting death

    A small group of  organized protestors came to Steelville on Sunday afternoon to voice their concerns that no charges have been filed in the shooting death of Justin King. Initial reports from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office stated one of King’s neighbors shot him in self-defense on November 3 in Bourbon.
