Supreme Court of Missouri recognizes 42nd Judicial Circuit for earning permanency award

    Missouri Chief Justice Paul C. Wilson honored the 42nd Judicial Circuit during an awards breakfast Thursday morning, September 23rd, for its timely work in cases impacting children during the fiscal year 2020. This is the first time the circuit – encompassing Crawford, Dent, Iron, Reynolds and Wayne counties – has qualified for the Permanency Award.

Wanted man runs from cops

    A wanted felon who allegedly used a knife during an arrest attempt now faces additional felony charges as a result of the incident. Kevin Bruce Crider, born in 1981, of Cuba, stands charged with the class A felony of assault in the first degree, the unclassified felony of armed criminal action, and the class E felony of resisting an arrest.

County taxpayers can choose emailed tax statements in 2021

    Taxpayers in Crawford County now have the option to receive their annual tax statements electronically via email as opposed to a paper copy in their mailbox. The Crawford County Collector’s Office has recently initiated a pilot program for this option to receive 2021 tax statements, and those interested can sign up online now.

County receives $2.3 million in ARPA funds

    Crawford County has received the first half of $4.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and applications to utilize that funding will be handled through the Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC).

Impact 100 give $35,000 to four local non-profits

    Impact 100 Crawford County held its annual awards banquet at Recklein Auditorium in Cuba on September 22 and presented a total of $35,000 to four Crawford County non-profit organizations. Since 2017, the organization has awarded grants totaling $154,000.
