Ozark Land Trust protects another 273 acres in Missouri’s Huzzah Creek watershed area

Ozark Land Trust (“OLT”) is excited to announce the protection of another 273 acres along Huzzah Creek, a major tributary of the Meramec River.  The property is part of a larger farm owned by the Yocom family.  This is the fourth conservation easement project with the Yocom family.  The transaction brings the total acreage that OLT protects in the watershed to 1,113 acres. 

Proposals for ARPA funds may now be submitted in Crawford County

    Crawford County entities may now submit proposals to receive a portion of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated to the county. Instructions and the county's ARPA grant application is now available on the Meramec Regional Planning Commission’s (MRPC) website.

New COVID cases declined in October

    Only one new death from COVID-19 was reported during the month of October in Crawford County, following the 13 deaths reported for the month of September. As of October 25, the new total stood at 57, according to the state website. In August, just two new deaths had been added to the total to bring that number to 43.

Assessor and Collector to move temporarily

    The Crawford County Assessor’s and Collector’s offices will move this month, but only temporarily. Both offices will be closed this week to allow for the abatement of asbestos found in the current building. They will relocate to 101 Hickory Street (located just off of Main Street in Steelville) to allow for the work to be completed in the county-owned building across from the main courthouse.
