MU Extension holds livestock drought recovery meetings in August

Livestock producers in the southern half of Missouri face many challenges because of the drought. To help ease their stress, University of Missouri Extension is holding free in-person meetings in August at various locations. On Aug. 10 in Crawford County and Aug. 11 in Pulaski County, extension specialists will cover key topics such as livestock decisions and feeding, forage management, forage toxins, money considerations and management and planning for future events.

Sullivan man holds elderly woman hostage

            A Sullivan man stands charged with kidnapping after reportedly entering an elderly woman’s apartment, threatening to kill her dog, and refusing to cooperate with police.

CC commish killed local event; rally embraced by Texas County instead

After Crawford County Commissioners kicked out the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood last year, organizers have sought out a new and more supportive area to hold the event that brings in a large, international field of racers, fans, and support crews each year. 

Copeland, Williams compete for state rep

Two Republican candidates have filed to fill the seat for Missouri State Representative of the 120th District and will be on the ballot for the August 2 Primary Election.
