The men and boys of the Steelville Presbyterian Church will be hosting the 94th Annual Groundhog Supper on Thursday, February 2. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Bill Ambrose who will be giving a presentation on the Trail of Tears.
Steelville High School Seniors Miracle Gibson and Dylan Bunch were crowned queen and king at homecoming on Friday, January 20.
The Steelville School Board meeting room was standing room only on Thursday night when the board met to decide whether to change to a four-day school week. The board was split in its vote on the subject and President Tana Booker had to cast the tie-breaking vote to move to the shorter week.
Current Steelville R-3 School District Superintendent Chris Hess will leave at the end of June after accepting a new position in another Missouri district. Cole Camp R-1 School District announced last week that Hess had accepted a position as superintendent there, beginning in July.
