Lady Cats fall to Licking in opener

    The Cuba High School girls welcomed perennial powerhouse Licking to Mike Voigt Gymnasium for the basketball season opener on November 23 for a battle of the Wildcats. Licking came out on top in the catfight, winning both games.

Slow start foils Tiger upset bid

    A slow start in the first quarter foiled the upset bid of the eighth-seeded St. James High School boys basketball team Monday, Nov. 29, as the Tigers fell to top-seeded Ste. Genevieve 67-63 in first-round action of the Sullivan FCNB Bank-It Tournament.

Lady Tigers to face top-seed Helias in semifinals

    The fourth-seeded St. James High School girls basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Fatima Lady Comet Classic by blasting fifth-seeded Moberly 70-45 in first-round action Monday, Nov. 29 at Westphalia.

Tigers drop close season-opener at Osage

    The St. James High School wrestling team opened the season by dropping a 42-37 dual-meet decision to School of the Osage Monday, Nov. 22 at Osage Beach.

Tiger eighth-graders win in first round of Union Tourney

    In the first round of the Union Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Monday, Nov. 29 St. James whipped New Haven 60-12. JV Meurer had 14 points for the Tigers while Tate Gruver added 10. Every player on the St. James team scored.

Lady Cards open with sweep at Grandview

    The Steelville High School girls basketball teams opened their 2021-22 season at Grandview on November 22 and returned home with a pair of wins. The varsity Lady Cardinals were also scheduled to play Dixon on November 23 but that game was canceled.
