Cuba High School sophomore Kaylee Fulliam was the individual girls champion at last week’s Gasconade Valley Conference Cross Country Meet, which was hosted by Bourbon and held in Steelville on October 22. The boys and girls teams from Steelville both won the team titles.
Although the Wildcats football team was winless heading into last week’s final regular season game, the Cuba High School varsity squad had been steadily improvement over the past month. The Cats finally put it all together at home last Friday, defeating Principia 56-6 to get their first win of the year.
For a team grasping for victories like the St. James Tigers, there is little joy in a productive loss.
But during this time of the schedule, when teams are sharpening up for district competition, productive losses can mean something.
The St. James High School cross country team competed in the Owensville Invitational Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Owensville City Park.
In the championship game of the St. James Seventh-Grade Tournament Thursday, Oct. 14 the host St. James seventh-grade girls’ basketball team knocked off Owensville 37-16.
