FFA to hold labor auction

The St. James FFA will host a labor and dessert auction on Wednesday, January 19, to raise funds for the upcoming contest season and this year’s FFA state convention trip. Local FFA students will be auctioned off during the event and will provide work for the highest bidder.

This year’s auction will take place at the St. James Community Hall in Nelson Hart Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Community members, business owners, farmers, and others are invited to participate. Throughout the event, FFA member pairs will be “sold” to the highest bidder and will work eight hours in the spring, aiding with household chores, working on a farm, helping around a business, or other need.
The winning bidder will be able to select what activities the FFA members provide. Proceeds will directly aid the St. James FFA as they prepare for another season of busy activities.
Chili and soup will be provided free of charge to guest, but donations will also be accepted. Anyone wanting to donate chili, soup, or a dessert for the event is invited to do so. Anyone with questions or for those wanting to donate food can do so by contacting FFA Advisor Whitney McWhorter at This email address is being protected from spambots.
