The Meramec Music Theatre will reopen its doors in July following a three-month intermission caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 concert season will re-start on July 11 with the first of four concerts during the month. Legacy Five will take the stage that night, followed by David Phelps on July 12, then Carrollton on July 17, and the Booth Brothers on July 18. The Petra Reunited concert has been rescheduled for October 18. The full fall schedule can be found online at meramecmusictheatre.com.
In the announcement about the reopening, the Meramec Music Theatre and the Steelville Arts Council pointed out the health and safety of its visitors, volunteers and artists continues to be of the utmost importance and the organization’s dedicated team of volunteers is working diligently to implement federal, state, and regional health recommendations and guidelines.
Those include the following:
• Social Distancing Measures - Physical distancing measures have been put in place, including marked lines for service areas, reduced menu options for concessions, availability of alternative seating arrangements and social distancing reminders throughout the theater.
• Protective Gear Encouraged - For everyone’s protection, guests and volunteers are encouraged to wear face masks or face coverings, however this is not required to attend an event.
• Increased Cleaning Focus - High touchpoint areas will be cleaned more frequently, and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the theater. Deep cleaning will occur before and after each event.
The theater included the following notice to all guests about events: Any interaction with the general public poses an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19, which is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the Meramec Music Theatre, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
For those who have already purchased tickets to an event, tickets will be valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend on the selected date for any reason, the theater will gladly refund your ticket purchase – just call the Box Office at 573-775-5999.
