Steelville’s celebration of our nation’s independence will be different this year because of COVID-19 concerns, but the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce will still host the annual fireworks display at the Community Park.
The Chamber, in cooperation with the city of Steelville, made the decision to only hold the fireworks display for this year, in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The event will be held on Saturday, July 4. Beginning at 8:40 p.m., the Salute to America ceremony will begin and will include the presentation of the Chamber’s Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year awards. The spectacular fireworks show by Showtime Pyrotechnics will begin at 9 p.m.
Those who wish to attend will be allowed to view the display from the park and are encouraged to practice social distancing and to keep individual groups separate from others.
There will not be an entrance fee for the fireworks show, but donations will be accepted and appreciated. No parking will be allowed along Highway 8 or on Industrial Drive.
The festival is sponsored by the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses financially sponsoring the event include: Platinum Sponsors: STE Communications, Steelville Manufacturing; Gold Sponsors: FCNB, Peoples Bank, Perkins Lumber Company; Silver Sponsors: City of Steelville, Steelville Senior Living, DCAI/DCAI Foundation, Hutson Funeral Home; Bronze Sponsors: Bell & Bell, Shelter Insurance, Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Friend of Freedom Fest, Coco’s Mexican Grill, Country Mart, Steelville Drug; Partner: Golden Echoes, Inc.
