•  Use your senses of sight, sound and smell to recognize potential leaks.  Look for areas where grass is dead or discolored for no apparent reason.  Look for dirt or water being blown into the air, or continuous bubbling from standing water in the vicinity of a natural gas pipeline.  Listen for unusual noises such as a hissing or roaring sound.  Smell for odorized natural gas.  It is a pungent odor similar to sulfur or rotten eggs.
** If you should discover a natural gas leak, stay safe.  Turn off engines and avoid using anything that might produce a spark, such as a light switch, doorbell or cell phone.  Warn others and leave the area immediately.

Capital Quarries Co., Inc., PO Box 105050, Jefferson City, MO 65110, has applied to accept transfer of Crawford Lime and Materials, 63 Weber Road, Cuba, MO 65453, Permit #0305, with the Department of Natural Resources, Land Reclamation Program, to mine Limestone on 109 acres of land located in Crawford County, Section 1, Township 39 North, Range 5 West; and Section 6, Township 39 North, Range 4 West.

The company has also applied for a site expansion from the Department of Natural Resources, Land Reclamation Program, to mine Limestone on an additional 58 acres, for a total of 167 acres of land located in Crawford County, Sections 1 and 12, Township 39 North, Range 5 West; and Sections 6 and 7, Township 39 North, Range 4 West.

The Crawford County Library District is requesting bids for new solid wood library shelving and laminate flooring for the entirety of our Steelville branch library and meeting room located at
210 S. 4th Street in Steelville, MO.
    Please include the cost for measurement of existing shelving, measurement of existing floor space, materials, installment, and the moving and sale or disposal of current metal shelving and existing flooring.
